Yesterday I gave the Women's Bible study on Christlikeness. God uses the circumstances in our lives, especially suffering to transform us into the image of Christ. I love this scripture, it speaks so much as to how our lives are just a vapor on this earth, we have a living hope to look forward to in heaven one day.
Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2Cor 5:16-18
This scripture helps me to put my own suffering in perspective. It is called a light affliction that in the scope of eternity, just lasts for a moment. Our perspective is to be eternal.
